Godox AD600 /Pixapro CITI 600 Pro

Can run on battery or AC power. Great colour and action stopping flash durations.

Godox AD1200 Pro

1200ws of battery or AC powered light.

Godox QTIII 600 / Pixapro Storm III 600

A mains powered studio light with 600ws of power and very short flash durations. I own three of these heads currently.

These lights offer more than enough power for most work that comes in to the studio and they are great at stopping action thanks to the very short flash durations.

They have a nice bright 40w LED modelling lamp and protective dome that covers the flash tube, honestly that dome has saved many a tube.

Godox QT400III / Pixapro Storm II 400

The 400ws bother to the 600’s. I also own two of these lights and they have been great for head shot work, background light duties on the white seamless set and more.

Very short flash durations and a great power range means I can work the light close and still shoot wide open on my fastest of lenses ( modifier dependant ).

I picked these up to replace some old 200ws lights that were causing me problems and I have never looked back.

Pixapro Pika 200 TTL Dual Head Kit

I love these little lights and have always said that If I ever move to location only work and the studio went I would have a bag of 4 Pika’s and dual heads and be good.

200ws of power ( about 3 times that of a speedlite ) and great battery life ( 500 full power flashes ).

Plenty of accessories to build out a Pika based lighting kit including the remote heads, round heads, LED heads .

I purchased the dual kit with the dual head that let’s you combine two Pikas for a 400ws light.

I did pick up two small ball heads for using at events and mounting the speedlite head and a Pikas to a light stand with out needing a bracket.

Buy Pika 200 Pro TTL

Godox AD300Pro/Pixapro CITI 300Pro

300ws of portable flash power with a nice bi-colour model lamp as well. Native mount is th Godox mount but you can use Bowens modifiers via a smart bracket. Will also take the AD200/AD200Pro batteries as well.

Godox AD100 Pro

Tiny 100ws light, round head just like the GI01/V1 speedlite.

Pixapro GI01 Round Head Speedlite

This speedlite may seem strange due to the shape of it’s flash head but it has turned out to be nothing short of amazing.

It provides a much cleaner pattern of light for use on backgrounds and fills an umbrella modifiers far better than the traditions Fresnel speedlite.

If you shoot a normal speedlite at a wall or background you won’t see a clean light pattern, the cleanest you will get is at 35mm zoom on the speedlite head, this round head solves that problem.

Pixapro LI-ION 580 Speedlites

I own 3 of these currently.

1. Gen 1 580 TTL
2. 580 II TTL
3. 580 Manual

They all work on my trigger system and the TTL versions can also be a master to my other lights. That provides me with redundancy trigger wise.

They all run on a Lithium ION battery pack that is good for 650 1/1 flashes. No more AA’s for the speedlite folks.

Great speedlites that are much more affordable than the Canon lights.

Triggers

Wireless triggers can be as simple as sending a fire signal or can offer remote control of your lights all from camera.

Below are the triggers I use now with the Pixapro system of lights. Pocketwizard Who?

I have kept my older trigger and some additional ST-III and ST-IV triggers for when I hold workshops.

1. Pixapro ST-IV

In my opinion the best trigger they have. 32 channels, 16 groups… That’s a Joe McNally number of lights.

Great range and they allow for TTL, HSS, delay timer.

Available for a range of camera systems.

2. Pixapro ST-III

This is my backup trigger and for when I still need to run a speedlite on camera as well as off camera lights. It has a TTL pass through hot shoe on.

5 Groups and 32 channels, TTL and HSS.

3. Pixapro ST-III Plus

The updated ST-III with bluetooth which allows use of an app to control your lights. TTL, Passthrough, HSS, 32 Channels and 5 groups. I am yet to add one of these to the kit.

Other Lights in the Pixapro Range

Whilst I don’t own the lights listed below I want to give folks a few options at different budget levels and some alternatives to some of the lights I am using myself. A few of these are on my would like list by the way. lol

Pixapro Studio ( Mains Powered Lights )

  1. Lumi II 200 Lights - Great lights for a home studio.

  2. Lumi II 400 Lights - 1 Stop more light than the 200 Lumi above.

  3. Godox DP600v- 600ws of power. Not quite the stopping power of the QTII or Storms but a great light none the less.

  4. Godox DP1000V- 1200ws of mains studio power. 1 Stop more than the 600. A tone of power but in a longer length head.

  5. Godox QT1200III - 1200ws action stopping main flash. Tons of power with great short flash durations.

Pixapro Battery Powered ( Studio / Location Lights )

  1. Pika 200 Pro - The next gen Pika adding 1/10th stop power control, improved colour and flash durations.

  2. CITI 300 Pro - The replacement for the Hybrid 360ii and all in a package no bigger than a mid range zoom lens.

  3. CITI 400 Pro - The CITI 400 Pro is a battery powered 400ws studio/location strobe with bags of power for location work and very good colour consistency and short flash durations.

  4. CITI 600 Pro - The 600ws bigger brother to the 400 Pro and the next version of the highly loved CITI 600.

  5. CITI 1200 Pro - 1200ws of location lighting power. I had one on loan for a few weeks and loved it, it’s on my list.
