121 Photography Training - Stockport, Manchester, UK

At first I started to offer group workshops for other studio which later became workshops in my own studio.

Fast forward a few years and those are still happening but I am now offering another option for photographers / creatives.

121 Photography Training

What makes this different from a workshop?

A workshop can be a great environment to learn in, you have multiple peers to bounce idea’s off and benefit from other attendees asking questions you may not of thought about.

A group workshops covering head shots. Umbrella collapsed to prevent it being destroyed in a gust of wind whilst I talk to the group.

Where 121 training differs is, the approach is bespoke to you and only you.

I will talk to you first (phone , email or at the studio) to find out what you are wanting to learn and I also get a read for where you are at technically. During this I will provide guidance on what you need to look at and consider. Once that is done a bespoke session is planned and we get to work.

Among the details discussed are locations, models, dates and times.

A small business owner learning how to use the £3000 of equipment in to his digital workflow for content production. We looked at light, camera fundamentals and getting a good accurate colour workflow up and ruining. After 2 full day sessions Chris was able to used the photography equipment he had invested in as a tool for his business.

The 121 sessions are run on a very practical basis.

Photography is a visual medium and I find that most people work best getting hands on working/seeing visually what is happening. This approach with support teaching the what, where and why’s has worked for many clients so far.

At the end of the day you can read books and watch as many YouTube videos as you like but getting hands on practical tuition will always move you further forwards. After that you have to go shoot and put what you have learnt to work.

Learn, Try, Fail, Learn Why.. dust of and try again. Rinse & Repeat.

Below are just some of the things that I have helped my clients with.

  • Camera & Photography Fundamentals

  • Lens choice. Which lens and why.

  • Digital Workflow

  • Colour Calibration ( monitor & Camera Profiles)

  • Adobe Lightroom - Workflow

  • Data/Asset Management

  • Working with natural light.

  • Studio Lighting ( In studio and on location)

  • Portrait Photography

  • Head Shot Photography

  • Sports Portrait Lighting

  • Shooting Tethered

  • Composition (shape, form, balance, framing)

  • Getting more from your portrait subject.

  • Psychology of portrait photography

With each 121 session being bespoke to each client, we can cover a number of items on the above list or just concentrate on one of them / something totally different.

It all depends on where you are technically and what you are looking to learn/achieve.

Visual Break.

If you are looking for help to improve your photography in 2020 then I would love to talk and put you to work. Let’s get the technical taken care of so it get’s out of your way.

Thank you

Rick
