Last weekend I was hired to photograph the Baptism of the beautiful baby Ella at the Emmanuel Methodist United Reformed Church in Ormskirk.
Ella was good a gold during the Baptism. According to my mum I kicked up a storm at mine, read in to that as you will.
It was a pleasure to meet and work with this lovely family. On to some images from the day.

The Studio: The Opening Day Event...
Well the studio is now officially open and the real hard work begins.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who attended & sent best wishes/good luck messages on the day it really means a lot. Love you all.
The day went great and I could not of asked for anything better. Friends, Family, Past Clients all in the same room.
Dad & Mark- Since you could not attend on the day I hope the images below give you a good sense of how well it went. Thank you both for your help and support.
During the day I had a Fuji Instax camera on the go and a small video camera that anyone could pick up and shoot with. The Instax proved very popular and the film soon ran out. I will edit the video (with stills) together once I have some images from others that attended, for now I have a few images that were shot on my cameras during the day. UPDATE: Added images from Danny Codling's camera. Thanks Dan.
I also shot some portraits during the day. Could not resist. If anyone would like copies of any of the images please let me know.
Now the hard work begins, it's scary and exciting but one thing I know for sure is that I have the support of a lot of great people. Thank you.
Looking forward to the 1 year anniversary already. :)

It will finally be time to open the doors on June 6th. I wanted to run the open day this month but have a few things that need finishing and a little extra time to get it all done plus I need it to run where I have a long weekend as well.
It has taken a fair few man hours and a fair bit of change to get it ready for doors open and I could not have done it without help and words of encouragement from…

Neighbours in the building the studio is in.
People from work.
The landlord.
People I have met/worked with in the local photography & creative community.
The day will start at 3pm so the folks with little kiddies can attend and it will run till later in the evening to give people that are further afield a chance to attend during the day.
I just wish my Gran and Uncle Paul were still around so they could attend and also sit for a portrait in the studio.
During the day..
Some food and drinks will be available – feel free to bring something along if you wish.
A few cameras – Fuji Instax Mini 8 with 40 shots (they will go in an album later) and a Kodak video camera thingy. Feel free to pick these up and take a picture or short video clip.
You can also use your own camera/camera phone and feel free to share on social media. If it’s ok I would like come images/video emailed over to me rick@rjbradbury.com so that I can put together a video/slide show to go on YouTube and a blog post after the event.

I will have some music on also but anyone's MP3 player can be connected to change the music up.
And so it begins...
I look forward to seeing you all at the opening day. If you can’t make it then you are welcome to call round another time.
PS I will have a camera so anyone is fair game on the day. :) Also sometimes the neighbours in the building might lock the outer door if that happens and you can’t get in or out let me know (07763418761).

Some images from: Beauty With A Purpose Charity Shoot.
Yesterday I was involved in the running of a Charity event for Beauty With A Purpose that was arranged by Miss Manchester finalist Ellie. The event went well and I would like to thank the photographers that attended.
My job for the event was lighting tech and studio host whilst the Studio owner (Ian M Butterfield) was at an audition. Ian was kind enough to give the use of his studio for free to help out, it was run at his because in mine we would of been dodging wet paint.
Ellie did an amazing job with her own Make-up and styling.. not to mention the modelling during the event. I look forward to working with her in the near future.
During the event I shot a few BTS frames and a handful of images to contribute to the event and charity. The images can be seen in the gallery below.
Thanks for reading.
